Mannequin Pussy is a four-piece band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The band consists of Marisa Dabice on guitar and vocals, Kaleen Reading on percussion, Colins Rey Regisford on bass and vocals, and Athanasios Paul on guitar and keys.

Their debut self-titled album came out in 2014, four years after Dabice and Paul started playing together. The relatively short album (it’s only 18 minutes long!) set the future of the band. It’s full of raw punk, with the angry spirit of Riot Grrrl coming across tracks like “Clue Juice” and “Meat Slave 3.” The songs of funky guitar riffs and catchy beats that show up across the rest of their discography.

Romantic, the sophomore album, was released in 2016. The familiar angry punk sound comes across in songs like “Kiss” and “Meatslave One.” This album is balanced with songs that cross into the garage noise and surf punk categories.

The third album, Patience, dropped a little over a year ago in June of 2019. This album is full of surf rock sound, with catchy guitar riffs. The album, while it has a more mature sound than their debut, still has that punk core. Songs like “Cream” and “Drunk I” are loud and angry, but balanced by a more chill surf-esque instrumental.
