Music Monday | Kid Bloom's "Hold In, Hold On"
By Hillary Hedstrom
It’s almost impossible to be in a bad mood listening to “Hold In, Hold On” by Kid Bloom. Once the funky bassline in the beginning starts, you’ll forget your worries for at least 2 minutes and 40 seconds. He created a sunny vibe, reminiscent of 80s movies and road trips. The upbeat energy the music exudes is overwhelming, making it impossible to not dance around.
Kid Bloom sings about getting over a crush, starting out with the lyrics “Stuck in the past, my heart don’t beat that fast anymore.” But then he goes on to reassure that his mind is off the other person finally. The lyrics are incredibly relatable, which makes it fun to sing along with. You won’t be able to get it out of your head once it’s in there.
